Shoulder Pain

SHOULDER PAIN OVERVIEW:

There are many different kinds of shoulder injuries including; frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis) shoulder bursitis, rotator cuff tears, dislocation. Shoulder pain and injuries can severely impact your daily activities.

Stiffness, soreness, muscle tears, painful movement, dull ache in the shoulder and even sharp stabbing pain are all common with the shoulder.

WHAT CAUSES SHOULDER PAIN?

The variety of shoulder problems have different causes.

Here are some of the common causes:

  • Poor Posture

  • Prolonged Sitting

  • Trauma (Sports Injuries)

  • Repetitive Movements

  • Overuse (work Injuries)

  • Poor Sleeping Position

  • Underlying Disease or Pathology

In our comprehensive clinical history and physical examination our first goal is to rule out trauma and other problems. Once this has been ruled out, we find the most common cause of shoulder problems are mechanical in nature.

The alignment of the shoulder joint is critical to how the joint moves and functions. When your shoulders roll forward, or you have a rounded upper back (both of which are common signs of poor posture) this places added pressure on the bones, ligaments, muscles, discs and nerves surrounding the shoulder girdle.

This alignment issue has the ability to create all kinds of pain and dysfunction in the shoulder and surrounding areas.

HOW DOES CHIROPRACTIC HELP?

At Proactive Health Chiropractic we take a holistic approach to helping you. Assessing your entire body, rather than just looking at your shoulder pain in isolation.

In conjunction with our chiropractic adjustments we also provide you with ergonomic, nutritional and exercise advice to help prevent the problem from returning in the future.

We are committed to helping people of all ages and body types experience a life free from pain and dysfunction.

Our method of adjusting focuses on assessing and improving your posture. Your posture is your spinal alignment, or, how well your spinal bones balance.

By ensuring your spine has great alignment it helps to remove the musculoskeletal imbalances often responsible for causing pain and dysfunction in the shoulder joint.

OUR CHIROPRACTIC METHOD:
